- When the opponent starts to frame against your neck, attempt the arm triangle.
- If the opponent defends using the telephone defense, preventing the arm triangle, proceed with the counter technique.
- Place your head below the opponent's elbow while maintaining the grip on their arm.
- Apply pressure on their elbow, pushing it into their head, and simultaneously grab their wrist with your other hand.
- Pull and rotate the opponent's wrist outward, executing a twisting shoulder lock.
- Ensure the opponent's elbow is bent to create a lever for the shoulder rotation.
- Focus on rotating the shoulder against its natural movement for an effective lock.
- Understand that the principles of shoulder locks apply across various positions, and once mastered, can be applied whenever the opportunity arises.
This technique serves as a powerful counter to the arm triangle defense, utilizing the principles of shoulder locks in a different context.
