About this video

Execute a shoulder lock from the scarf position following a fireman carry initiated from a two-on-one grip:

  1. After completing the fireman carry, maintain a firm hug on the opponent's arm to prevent their escape.
  2. Roll over to the scarf position, ensuring you keep contact with the opponent's arm throughout the transition.
  3. In the scarf position, keep one leg straight to block the opponent's bridging escape, lift their head off the mat to limit their movement, and use your other leg to apply pressure.
  4. If the opponent starts to frame against you, use your body weight to push their arm down, not just your arm strength.
  5. As they push up, lean into the push, guiding their arm down and under your leg.
  6. Depending on the flexibility of the opponent's shoulders, the lock can be applied faster or slower.
  7. Keep control of the arm that was under the opponent during the fireman carry, as it will transition to being under their neck in the scarf position.
  8. When the opponent frames to defend, allow them to push, then slip your head to the side to guide their hand into position.
  9. Once their arm is in position, hook it with your hands to secure the shoulder lock.

This technique utilizes the opponent's resistance to set up a simple and effective shoulder lock from the scarf position.
