About this video

Securing the North-South Arm Triangle begins with achieving side control after a foot sweep, with the opponent's arm trapped tightly by your hip. Ensure a solid position with chest-to-chest contact and no space, effectively smothering the opponent.

  1. Transition to north-south by moving to the opposite side of the opponent, as if obtaining side control from that side, using body weight and movement to manipulate the opponent's arm without using your own arms.
  2. As you switch sides, block the opponent's hip with your hand, keeping weight on their trapped arm.
  3. Continue moving around the opponent, securing an underhook on the far side.
  4. Establish a gable grip with your hands, ensuring your hips are low and your head is close to the ground.
  5. Squeeze the gable grip to apply the choke and secure the submission.

Remember to maintain pressure on the opponent's arm with your body, search for the underhook, and keep your hips down and head low when finishing the choke.
