About this video
Executing an inside hook to the opponent's opposite leg involves using an over-the-back grip. To initiate the technique, prompt the opponent to step forward to close the distance. Then, hook the inside of their right leg with your leg. This action typically results in the opponent falling into a half guard position.
- Start with an over-the-back grip on the opponent.
- Encourage the opponent to step forward to bring them within reach.
- Perform an inside hook on the opponent's right leg, which is on your opposite side.
- Expect to land in the opponent's half guard after completing the takedown.
- Prepare to address the new grappling scenario from the top half guard position, which can also be referred to as half mount due to the offensive opportunities it presents.
It's important to be ready to transition to attacking or passing from the top half guard (half mount) after the takedown is executed.
