About this video
Executing the Scissor Takedown from a Russian Tie, two-on-one grip:
- Start with a two-on-one grip and switch it across to the opponent's shoulder to control their torso.
- Enter the takedown by supporting yourself on your hand and bringing the opponent down with you.
- Position your leg behind the opponent's knees, not at the ankles, to ensure a natural movement and prevent injuries.
- Practice the entry by posting your hand on the mat, bringing your leg across and behind the opponent's knees slowly.
- Avoid driving your shin against the opponent's leg, as this can cause injury. Ensure your leg goes behind both of the opponent's legs.
- Practice the sequence slowly: change your grip, post your hand, leg behind, and drop.
- When you become more proficient, you can enter the takedown from the front by jumping in.
- Ensure your partner knows how to fall correctly by sitting and falling backwards to avoid injury.
- Practice the takedown at full speed only after mastering the leg position and the partner's safe fall.
