About this video
Executing a Leg Drag from Spider Guard with the opponent having Spider Grip and Biceps Control:
- Begin by organizing your grip on top of the opponent's shin and close your elbows to prevent them from controlling your elbows.
- Lift your knee behind the opponent's knee to apply pressure on their leg, allowing you to let go of the initial grip and swing your arm out.
- Extend your arm without trying to grab the pants immediately; instead, close your elbow and extend to make the grip.
- As the opponent re-grabs, you will have full control. They will likely extend their other leg to maintain control.
- Quickly step to the other side, pinching your knee on the opponent's leg to prevent them from establishing De La Riva control.
- Use your hips to drag the opponent's leg, not just your arms. Your hips should move forward to remove the opponent's foot.
- While dragging, pull your arm in to break the opponent's grip on your sleeve.
- Drag the opponent's leg to the side and move down to stabilize the leg drag position.
- When the opponent is playing Spider Guard, walk back slightly to avoid being attacked or swept, and pinch your knees for balance.
- Push behind the opponent's knee to disrupt their balance as you prepare to swing your arm and secure the grip for the leg drag.
- After securing the grip, switch directions and use your hips to finalize the leg drag while simultaneously breaking the opponent's sleeve grip.
