About this video
Escape from De La Riva with a pants grip and transition into a Berimbolo to take the back:
- Begin by freeing your leg from De La Riva by pushing down on your opponent's leg and walking to open their grip, using a C-grip to assist.
- Back step and trap your opponent's leg with yours, forming an X with your legs.
- Grab the edge of your opponent's pants on the far side, preparing for a front roll over your shoulder.
- Execute a front roll, trapping your opponent's leg to bring them along with you.
- As you roll, aim your knee towards your opponent's knee and use the pants grip to push their leg onto your hook.
- Insert one hook inside and place the other hook behind your opponent's thigh.
- Use your free leg to kick and the pants grip to push your opponent's hips under, while releasing the grip to control their arm.
- Adjust your position, secure a collar grip, and establish your second hook to complete taking the back.
