About this video
Forced inversion to leg drag pass from spider guard:
- Start with the opponent controlling your biceps and their leg bent. Your elbow should be down.
- Change your grip from on top of their leg to underneath it, closing your elbows to initiate the inversion.
- Push the opponent's leg and follow them to the side, placing your knee behind their knee and the other knee supporting their back. Pinch your knees together.
- Break their grip on your sleeve and switch to a cup grip on the outside of their leg, keeping your elbow tight.
- If the opponent resists the leg drag by opening their legs, switch your grip to the far side of their hips.
- Follow through by falling onto your shoulder, dragging their leg across to your lap while maintaining your toes on the mat, similar to a butterfly sweep position.
- Ensure your knee points towards the opponent and use your butterfly hook to control their leg.
- Drag the leg across as you position yourself close to the opponent, grabbing their collar and closing your elbow.
- Use the momentum to kick your leg and push your head to the opposite side, completing the leg drag position.
Repeat the sequence from different angles to understand all grip details and the transition to the leg drag position.
