About this video
Executing the Long Step Pass from Lasso Spider Guard:
- Begin by grabbing the opponent's belt and closing your elbow to secure the grip. With your other hand, grab the opponent's pants near the knee, closing that elbow as well.
- Escape from the spider guard by walking out of it to force the opponent's leg down.
- Place your knee on top of the opponent's knee and push it down to bend their leg.
- Release the grip on the pants and start to circle your hand inward, jumping over the opponent's leg.
- Keep pushing the opponent's leg down and close your elbow, but be mindful of the lasso still in place.
- To free yourself from the lasso, release the belt grip and back up slightly to create space.
- Close your elbow and circle your hand all the way to the other side.
- As you complete the hand circle, execute a Long Step to the opposite side.
- Walk back to reverse the position, control, and stabilize.
Key points include maintaining pressure to prevent strengthening the lasso, creating space to circle the hand, and using the Long Step to pass effectively.
