About this video
Executing the Leg Trap Pass from Reverse De La Riva involves several key steps:
- Start by identifying the most important leg to control in Reverse De La Riva, which is the opponent's leg entangled with yours.
- Use your shoulder to pressure the opponent's leg, and if the knee is close, push it with your hands to get into position.
- Trap the opponent's leg close to the ankle using your biceps, similar to a C-grip, to push the leg down.
- With the leg trapped, open the opponent's leg with your shoulder while looking to the side, not down.
- To escape Reverse De La Riva, grip the top of the opponent's knee, push the leg down, and simultaneously lift your hips while keeping pressure on their legs.
- Walk to the other side, using your elbow to wind and your shoulder to lift the opponent's foot into the air.
- Transition into a leg drag by using the leg work from the leg drag position and pushing the opponent's knee with your grip.
- Change the grip to the opponent's collar, place your head down, slide the other grip to the hips, and stabilize the position to complete the leg drag.
Throughout the pass, maintain tight control of the opponent's leg, use shoulder pressure effectively, and ensure to trap and drag the leg using coordinated movements to secure the leg drag position.
