About this video
Executing the Duck Under Pass when facing resistance during a stack pass:
- Begin the stack pass by pushing the opponent's knee under and sliding your knee to the side you intend to pass.
- Look to the opposite side and open your knee as you hug the opponent's head to initiate a long stack.
- Ensure your middle finger grips the opponent's armpit to apply shoulder pressure.
- As you long stack, transition your grip from the opponent's collar to their knee.
- Perform a compass-like motion with your leg and slide your hips to maintain shoulder pressure.
- If the opponent pushes and attempts to recompose the guard with their top leg, place your hands on the mat and hide your head in anticipation of their leg coming over.
- Duck under the incoming leg, underhook it, and bring the leg over your shoulder while applying pressure towards the opponent, not downwards.
- Slide your knee over the opponent's thigh, releasing the grip on their leg as it's no longer needed.
- Move your hands under the opponent's hips, avoiding the common mistake of placing weight on your hands.
- Windshield wiper your leg to stack the opponent, leaning forward to apply pressure and control their hips.
- Drag the opponent's leg across as you transition to a leg drag position, maintaining shoulder pressure and head position to stabilize the pass.
