About this video
Executing the Crazy Dog Pass against a Reverse De La Riva guard with an ankle grip, followed by a Long Step to finish the pass:
- Start in Reverse De La Riva with the opponent gripping your ankle and establish a collar grip to prevent them from going underneath.
- Set up a secondary grip on the edge of the pants near the opponent's knee or above the knee if the preferred grip is not available.
- Apply pressure with your shoulder over the opponent's leg and lean forward to make the position uncomfortable for them.
- Slide your knee over the opponent's shin, behind their grip, to break their hold on your ankle.
- As you break the grip and move towards the opponent, they will likely maintain a Knee Shield to prevent side control.
- To bypass the Knee Shield, release the collar grip, hug the opponent's head, and execute a Long Step to clear the shield.
- After the Long Step, release the grip on the pants and start controlling the opponent's top leg.
- Push the top leg down and walk towards Side Control to stabilize the position.
