About this video
Executing a stack pass from closed guard with a long step transition:
- Begin with one knee up and push the opponent's knee down. Use a four-finger spider grip to push the knee and keep your elbow closed.
- Reach for the opponent's collar and start stacking to the side. If the opponent frames against your hips and face, preventing you from sliding your knee over their biceps, switch to the other side.
- Push the opponent's knee down again and slide your knee over their leg, ensuring you hook their leg with your foot. Change your angle and look away from the opponent to prevent them from pushing your head down.
- Release the grip on the opponent's knee and lean forward to hug their head. Secure a grip behind their back with your middle finger in their armpit.
- Let go of the collar grip and execute a long step, replacing the grip to control the opponent's bottom leg.
- Walk your hips close to the opponent's head, keeping your knee down and shoulder in their face.
- Push the opponent's leg down to flatten them out and transition back to side control.
- Control the opponent's elbow, apply shoulder pressure, release the pants grip, and block their hips to stabilize the position.
- Maintain toes on the mat, chest down, and look towards the opponent's legs to secure a higher head position.
