About this video
Executing an over-under pass from the closed guard involves transitioning from a stack pass to a pressure pass that focuses on controlling the opponent's hips. Begin with the same stack pass setup: grab the opponent's knee, go under the leg, reach for the collar, and close your elbow. As you push the opponent's knee down, jump over their leg and switch your grip from the collar to an overhook on their leg.
It's crucial to change your angle as you jump over, looking to the opposite side and placing your forehead near the mat in a tripod position. This head position is essential for applying pressure. You can either maintain the original collar grip or switch to the opposite collar, sliding your hand and closing your elbow to secure the overhook.
With your shoulder applying pressure and your knees pinched, walk towards the opponent's head to address their hook on your leg. Use a windshield wiper motion with your leg to remove their hook, sliding your knee under their leg to control their hips. At this point, you can release the overhook and slide your knee to their hips, keeping your head down and applying pressure.
Finally, release the collar grip, transition your arm over to regain collar control, and use your elbow to block their hips on the ground. Maintain a tight position, and when the opponent stops moving, you can transition to side control by hooking their head and walking to the reverse side control position.
