About this video
Collar Sleeve Recovery with Belt Grab Sit Through when facing a knee-cut pass transitioning to a long step:
- As the opponent moves towards a knee-cut position and switches to a long step, maintain a Reverse De La Riva hook to control their movement.
- Keep a frame with one hand on the opponent's collar and the other hand on their pants to prevent the pass.
- When the opponent attempts the long step, push them away using the frame and simultaneously grab their belt with a punch grip in the middle of their belly.
- Dive your head upside down to break the opponent's grip on your pants, fully extending your arm to create space.
- Use the belt grip to keep the opponent at a distance, preventing them from moving to your back.
- Post your leg and use the belt grip to pull your opponent into the gap, bringing them back into your guard.
- If the opponent tries to switch to a leg drag, quickly bring your leg back to a belly-down position.
- As your partner attempts to spin to your back, the belt grip helps maintain distance.
- Post your hands on the mat, open your leg on the floor, and perform a sit through to bring your opponent back inside your guard.
