About this video
Executing the shotgun armbar from the collar and sleeve guard:
- Begin in the collar and sleeve position, with your opponent grabbing your pants.
- Release the sleeve grip and establish a scoop grip (underhook) on your opponent's hamstring.
- Use the scoop grip to pull yourself to an angle, maintaining control of the guard.
- Pummel your foot off your opponent's bicep and move it outside their arm.
- Widen your right leg and start inverting to create the necessary angle for the armbar.
- Grip around your opponent's elbow with a shotgun grip, ensuring your elbow is inside their wrist.
- Break their grip by kicking and pulling, then position your knee over their ear.
- Lift your hips and bridge into their elbow to secure the armbar finish.
