Overhead Sweep from Collar and Sleeve:

  1. Start with your training partner standing and establish a collar and sleeve grip.
  2. Place your foot on their hip, transitioning from the bicep. Ensure you stretch them out to maintain control and prevent guard passes.
  3. Push into their hips. If they drive weight back into you, pull your grips in and load your knees to your chest.
  4. With their hips over yours, direct them over the side where you have the sleeve grip.
  5. Practice the push, pull, load, and hold sequence to get comfortable with the balance and control.
  6. When ready, execute the sweep by performing a back roll over your left shoulder while they front roll over their right shoulder.
  7. Ideally, maintain your grips throughout the sweep. If you lose balance or land awkwardly, focus on getting back on top immediately.
  8. Repeat the sequence: stretch out, foot to hip, push, load, and back roll to mount.
