Lasso guard overview and connections:
- Lasso guard can be connected from both collar and sleeve position or spider guard position.
- Effective against opponents who pass with their chest and arms forward, making it difficult for them to move side to side or apply physical pressure.
- Starting from a collar and sleeve position, circle the leg over and step the foot on the opponent's shoulder for a shallow lasso.
- For a regular lasso, put the foot through and pull knuckles against your own quad.
- From spider guard, pull the opponent's hand to the middle and pummel the leg over for either a shallow or regular lasso.
- Deep variations involve threading the leg all the way through to the opponent's back, further restricting their movement and pressure.
