Executing the Omoplata from Spider Guard:

  1. Begin with your training partner standing. Remove the bottom hook and place your foot on their hip.
  2. Lift your hips and pinch your knee on their shoulder. This setup is similar to the triangle, but switch to the Omoplata if they control your pants leg.
  3. Bridge your hips up, pinch your knee on their shoulder, and punch their hand to your back pocket. Drag your leg over their shoulder and lock a triangle around it.
  4. Reach up to their lower back, bring your knees and ankles together, and extend your legs to rock up to a seated position.
  5. Slide knee to knee, ankle to ankle, and squeeze your knees. Rock up to your butt, post on your hand, and scoot your butt back.
  6. Reach your arm far over their hip, scoot out, and pull them down to their belly.
  7. Fold your legs out in a 90-90 position, sit forward, and make an S-grip or palm-to-palm grip around their far shoulder. Use your hips to bring their hand towards the back of their head.
