About this video
Executing the Kid Sweep from the collar and sleeve guard:
- Start with your training partner standing in your collar and sleeve guard.
- Place your foot on their hip and begin pushing and pulling as if attempting an overhead sweep. This action will cause them to step closer with both legs.
- Once their feet are close to your hips, release both the collar and sleeve grips simultaneously and switch to a double ankle grip.
- Push your hips using both feet.
- After pushing, bring your feet to the inside and perform a shinrock to get up.
- To prevent your opponent from closing their guard, keep one knee up in the middle.
Focus on mastering the basic movements first: collar and sleeve grips, feet on hips, push and pull to bring their feet close, switch to ankle grips, push hips, bring feet inside, and get up.
