About this video
Executing triangles and omoplatas from the lasso position by inverting:
- Start with your training partner kneeling and establish a regular lasso.
- Transition from a shallow lasso to a regular lasso by rolling your toes underneath their armpit.
- Pass your foot to the side of their hip, tuck your elbow towards your side, and roll towards your shoulder.
- Place your foot on the mat and perform a knee lift by leaning towards your shoulder and pressing your toes into the mat.
- Open your knee wide while maintaining a tight grip on the lasso, then invert through their legs with a front roll.
- During the front roll, use your right hand to grip either their collar or elbow.
- As you roll through, lock the omoplata by back rolling.
- If your opponent postures up during the roll, continue lifting your hips to transition into a triangle.
- Repeat the process: from shallow lasso to regular lasso, tuck your elbow, roll towards your shoulder, and perform the knee lift.
- Invert through the open space under their armpit, catch their elbow, and either complete the omoplata or transition to a triangle if they posture up.
