About this video
A quick scoring technique from the Reverse De La Riva position involves a spin under followed by a low single leg takedown:
- Start by spinning under the opponent as previously practiced, pushing them out slightly to create space.
- Once underneath, draw a circle with the foot to bring the leg under and quickly get up to your feet.
- While rising, maintain a grip on the opponent's ankle and knee, positioning your shoulder into their groin area.
- Execute the takedown by blasting forward, pulling up on the knee to off-balance the opponent and quickly standing up.
- It's crucial to keep your elbows closed to prevent being caught in a reverse triangle during the transition.
- After the bump, immediately stand up while pulling up on the opponent's leg to ensure they end up on the bottom, potentially setting up a leg drag pass.
This technique is effective for quickly scoring two points and can be executed by practitioners of any level with minimal drilling.
