About this video

Transitioning to a collar sleeve grip from half guard, use the grip as a frame to prevent the opponent's shoulders from getting close. Maintain a strong cuff grip on the opponent's wrist and stuff it between their legs.

  1. Use your leg to push into the opponent's armpit, creating an off-balance to one side.
  2. Anticipate the opponent's reaction to rebalance and use their momentum to execute the sweep.
  3. Stuff the opponent's arm and simultaneously kick their leg to off-balance them.
  4. As the opponent tries to come back, pull across your body while bringing both knees to your chest and rock to your back.
  5. Load the opponent on top of both shins and take them over your shoulder.
  6. Immediately after the sweep, secure a kimura grip on the opponent's arm to either pass the half guard or attempt a submission.

This technique not only sweeps the opponent but also sets up a kimura, allowing you to stay ahead in the transition.
