About this video
Executing a spinning back take using the long hook:
- Start by spinning under your opponent using their momentum as they push back against you.
- Reach across with your right leg to hook underneath their far arm, aiming to hook their body.
- Release the opponent's leg and pull both knees into your chest to pull them over you.
- As the opponent posts with their hand to avoid falling, insert your hand into their armpit.
- Move your left leg from their hip down to hook behind their knee.
- Push out their knee with your left foot, causing them to sit into your lap.
- Secure the seatbelt grip and throw your hook over to complete the back take.
Key details include only kicking out with the left foot to off-balance the opponent and ensuring the right foot hooks effectively under the opponent's arm. This technique is particularly advantageous for practitioners with longer legs.
