About this video

Executing a reversal sequence inspired by Matheus Diniz, combining the twist sweep and bridging sweep:

  1. Begin with the opponent landing in your half guard, attempt the bridging sweep by bumping them over.
  2. If the opponent prevents the sweep by extending their leg and shifting their weight to lift their knee off the floor, and possibly hugging your head, adjust your strategy.
  3. Block their ability to post effectively by positioning your leg parallel to their body and trapping their arm with your head.
  4. Attempt to sweep by flipping to the other side, using your bicep to hit their head and neck, while blocking their leg to prevent them from posting.
  5. If the opponent widens their leg to counter, maintain control above their knee line and switch your hook back, keeping your elbow tight.
  6. Scoop your hip under the opponent and bridge to force their leg closer to your hip, making it reachable for the next move.
  7. Drag the opponent's leg by switching your legs and scooting underneath, then block their leg with your foot.
  8. Prepare to bridge over your outside leg, but first remove it from over the opponent's leg to avoid losing control.
  9. Touch your knees together to pinch the opponent's thigh, preventing them from freeing their leg or advancing position.
  10. Execute the bridge while circling your heels towards your buttocks to complete the reversal and avoid the opponent's guard.
  11. Be mindful of the opponent's arm, using your head to trap their forearm and prevent them from posting as you bridge.
  12. If wearing a Gi, you can grip the outside of their leg for additional control during the bridge.
  13. Keep your knees pinched together to trap their leg as you bridge, using a side kick drop to finalize the reversal.
