About this video
Executing the Leg Bundle Upa Sweep from half guard involves a series of movements to off-balance and sweep the opponent:
- Start by getting underneath the opponent with a deep underhook and switching the hook.
- Scoot underneath the opponent, lifting their weight onto you and disconnecting their far knee from the mat.
- Bring the opponent's knees together, close enough to reach with your leg and take control.
- As you twist, the opponent will post their arm to prevent the sweep. Immediately block their tricep with your underhooking arm and free your head.
- Create a frame on the opponent's tricep with your thumb down to prevent them from coming back.
- Build your base by moving to your elbow and then your hand, with both hands on the mat.
- Drag your knees to realign your body so you end up on your knees and between your arms.
- Find the underhook again and get deep to the opponent's hip.
- Pull the opponent's hip over you, disconnecting their remaining post from the mat.
- Close a triangle over the opponent's knee line, twist, and post as they release their arm.
- Land your underhooking arm at the back of the opponent's tricep, come back to free your head, and establish your base with hands on the mat.
- Finally, drag your knees out to realign and complete the sweep.
