About this video
Lasso De La Riva Tilt Sweep to Knee Cut:
- From the lasso guard with leg opposition, when the opponent stands up, reach for their far arm.
- Grab the arm and extend your lasso leg deeply, pulling their arm towards you.
- Switch your hips slightly to the side and post your knee on top of their leg.
- Switch your grip to control their arm and foot, maintaining pressure and driving your knee towards the ground.
- Start to bring your left heel up and slide towards side control, keeping close to your opponent.
- Keep the pressure to prevent the opponent from rolling, trapping their arm.
- Secure side control and if the arm is exposed, wrap it to prepare for a full mount.
- Place your knee on their belly to score points and progress to full mount.
- Transition to an S-mount position, eliminate the opponent's arm, push their face, and press your leg over.
- Finish with an armbar, controlling the opponent's wrist and squeezing your legs.
For the deep De La Riva variation:
- Control the opponent's arm and pull it towards you while shifting your hips to the side.
- As you sweep, maintain both grips and push your right leg up, placing your knee on top of their knee.
- Switch your grip so your right hand is near their armpit and pull up as you stand.
- Lift your left heel and slide your knee on top of their leg, staying close.
- Drive their arm across and place your chest on top of their triceps, trapping both arms.
- Control their wrist, go knee on belly to score points, and advance to full mount.
- With both knees on the ground, move to an S-mount position, release their arm, and control it by grabbing your collar.
- Push their face down, transferring all your weight onto their belly.
- Pass your leg over, bring your knee down, control the ball of their arm and their wrist.
- Finish with an armbar by squeezing your legs.
