About this video

Lasso De La Riva Tilt Sweep to Knee Cut:

  1. From the lasso guard with leg opposition, when the opponent stands up, reach for their far arm.
  2. Grab the arm and extend your lasso leg deeply, pulling their arm towards you.
  3. Switch your hips slightly to the side and post your knee on top of their leg.
  4. Switch your grip to control their arm and foot, maintaining pressure and driving your knee towards the ground.
  5. Start to bring your left heel up and slide towards side control, keeping close to your opponent.
  6. Keep the pressure to prevent the opponent from rolling, trapping their arm.
  7. Secure side control and if the arm is exposed, wrap it to prepare for a full mount.
  8. Place your knee on their belly to score points and progress to full mount.
  9. Transition to an S-mount position, eliminate the opponent's arm, push their face, and press your leg over.
  10. Finish with an armbar, controlling the opponent's wrist and squeezing your legs.

For the deep De La Riva variation:

  1. Control the opponent's arm and pull it towards you while shifting your hips to the side.
  2. As you sweep, maintain both grips and push your right leg up, placing your knee on top of their knee.
  3. Switch your grip so your right hand is near their armpit and pull up as you stand.
  4. Lift your left heel and slide your knee on top of their leg, staying close.
  5. Drive their arm across and place your chest on top of their triceps, trapping both arms.
  6. Control their wrist, go knee on belly to score points, and advance to full mount.
  7. With both knees on the ground, move to an S-mount position, release their arm, and control it by grabbing your collar.
  8. Push their face down, transferring all your weight onto their belly.
  9. Pass your leg over, bring your knee down, control the ball of their arm and their wrist.
  10. Finish with an armbar by squeezing your legs.
