About this video

Executing a foot lock from the Lapel guard when the opponent stands up and attempts a Knee on Belly pass:

  1. Start in the Lapel guard and use a hook to prevent the opponent from moving to your side.
  2. As the opponent stands and drives your knee to pass with Knee on Belly, quickly bring your knee in to block them.
  3. Push the opponent's belly forward towards your foot and squeeze your legs to create space.
  4. Insert your hand in the created space, bend your body, and grab the lapel without going too deep.
  5. Place your heel against the opponent's belly and step your other leg over everything to create space.
  6. Bring your heel close to the opponent's hip and close your arm.
  7. Drive the opponent's knee down by closing your knee and opening your leg.
  8. Bend your body back, close your arm, and project your hips forward to tighten the foot lock.
  9. Ensure your knee stays down and extend your leg to create a base.
  10. Project your hips forward while looking up to finish the foot lock, focusing on the Achilles tendon and keeping it close to the heel.

It's crucial to maintain proximity to the opponent's hip for proper alignment and to maximize the effectiveness of the foot lock.
