  3. Grab the opponent's leg and reach for their arm, locking it close to your head.
  4. Extend the leg towards the locked arm and execute a back roll.
  5. Finish in a position where you can work on passing the guard.

This technique allows for a smooth transition to the X-Guard and sets up the practitioner for subsequent guard passes.
