About this video

Execute a basic sweep to arm lock when the opponent hides their hand to prevent a biceps slicer:

  1. Place your hand through the opponent's biceps, using a hook grip beyond the wrist to prevent their escape.
  2. Post your elbow on the opponent's sternum to create an angle, locking their arm in place.
  3. Push the opponent's face down to extend their arm, keeping your knee on their body.
  4. Extend your left leg to create a base and turn the opponent sideways by stepping your left foot under their back.
  5. As you turn, immediately grab the opponent's thumb with your left hand, twisting it slightly to prevent them from rolling out of the armbar.
  6. Control the opponent's forearm with your right hand, keeping your right leg extended and heavy on their head.
  7. Bring the opponent's arm towards your chest, ensuring your leg is straight to prevent them from pushing it off.
  8. Finish the armbar by lifting your hips while keeping the opponent's thumb rotated towards the leg that is up, connecting their arm to your chest.

Remember to keep your leg heavy and straight, and to twist the opponent's thumb to the side to lock their shoulder and prevent escape. The final step is to lift your hips for the submission.
