About this video
The Sprawlshot Drill is an effective warm-up and conditioning exercise that enhances reaction time and cardiovascular endurance.
- Begin with fast feet movements to elevate your heart rate.
- Your partner will clap to signal a sprawl. Immediately hit the sprawl upon hearing the clap.
- As you sprawl, your partner will assume a stance, either with a squared stance or leading with one leg.
- Quickly pop up from the sprawl and assess your partner's stance.
- React instantly by shooting for a takedown, such as a single leg, based on your partner's lead leg.
- After the shot, return to fast feet movements without completing the takedown.
- Repeat the sequence: fast feet, sprawl, pop up, and shoot.
This drill can be performed in rounds of 30 seconds, 45 seconds, or up to a minute. It is ideal for warming up before live training sessions, as it elevates the heart rate and prepares the body for intense activity.
