About this video
Double leg drill for improving reaction, body mechanics, and conditioning:
- Start with your partner down on one knee, simulating a shot position. Lock your hands on your partner's hips, and have your partner place their hands on you to provide slight resistance.
- Step with your left foot, ensuring you go heel first, then toes, and finally drop your knee to drive through. Repeat the same motion with the other leg.
- Ensure your partner provides enough resistance to challenge you but not so much that it becomes impossible to perform the drill.
- Switch roles with your partner, giving them slight resistance as they perform the drill. They should also follow the heel, toes, knee sequence and drive through.
- For practice, either go all the way down a long mat and switch roles or perform the drill back and forth for one minute each.
