About this video
Executing a snap down off an underhook:
- Start with head control and an underhook.
- Create motion by moving and then release the head control to perform a fake shot with a jab step using your right leg.
- Immediately return to an upright position, pulling down on the head and underhook while sprawling your hips back to achieve a front headlock position.
- From the front headlock, maintain control of the tricep and chin to prevent your opponent from standing up. Pull side to side to off-balance them.
- Stay connected with your head and belly against your opponent. Block their hand by placing your knuckles behind their tricep.
- Ensure your knee beats their arm to prevent them from grabbing your leg. If they do grab, remove their grip and block the arm again.
- Once the opponent is down, you can choose to attack with an arm-in guillotine, arm-out guillotine, anaconda choke, or Darce choke, or work on taking the back.
- Focus on getting the opponent to the mat, then decide on the best submission or positional control based on your strengths.
