About this video
Executing a successful double leg run through:
- Avoid common mistakes such as shooting to both knees and relying solely on arm strength. This makes it easy for opponents with basic wrestling defense to sprawl and counter.
- Ensure your head is over your hips and drive off your leg while keeping your head up. This positioning provides better leverage and power.
- Instead of taking one big step, which may not be sufficient against a resisting opponent, focus on running through the double leg by taking multiple steps.
- Drill the technique by exaggerating the steps, taking around five steps to instill the habit of running through the opponent.
- Use any setup to get into the double leg position, grip behind the knees, drive with your head, and bring your follow-through leg forward.
- Drive across your opponent rather than straight back, pushing off your leg and running your feet continuously until the takedown is complete.
