About this video

Initiate the technique from the knee cup position when lacking the mobility or flexibility to place the foot outside the hip after a bicep lasso. Instead, focus on bringing the opponent's knee to the floor.

  1. Secure a strong collar tie to prevent the opponent from advancing or escaping. This grip should be firm and controlling.
  2. With the other hand, control the opponent's wrist to maintain good overall control.
  3. Pummel the foot inside and work to force the opponent's knee towards the mat. This action creates the necessary space for the next step.
  4. Once the opponent's knee is driven to the floor, the foot can then travel outside, setting up the transition to the K-Guard.
  5. Establish a scoop grip on the opponent's leg, placing the elbow inside the knee, preparing for offensive maneuvers from the K-Guard.
  6. The objective is to ground the opponent, ideally forcing both of their knees to the mat.
  7. Clear any grips, post the foot at a slight angle to facilitate the opponent dropping to their knees, easing the transition for the outside foot.
  8. After achieving the scoop grip on the leg, use a frame against the opponent's bicep to prevent a cross face, bringing the head in and elbow inside to secure a strong K-Guard position.

This sequence sets up a solid foundation for attacking from the K-Guard, with the emphasis on controlling the opponent's posture and positioning.
