About this video
Executing the folding pass against the Worm Guard involves the following steps:
- Establish a strong base to prevent being swept or having your back taken. Punch down on the opponent's shoulder with one hand, grabbing fabric for control, and pinch your knee in slightly.
- With your other hand, reach for the opponent's heel or ankle.
- Take a small step back, push the opponent's heel towards their buttocks, and step over into a headquarters position, placing your knee heavily against their hamstring.
- Grab the opponent's belt with your hand, knuckles down, and rotate on the balls of your feet, melting your chest heavily against the side of their knee to apply pressure on their hip.
- Sprawl your leg back to further control the opponent and prepare to change your head position and cover.
- If the opponent has a strong grip on the lapel, adjust the angle of your right leg by walking your foot back slightly to facilitate rotation.
- When facing a very tight clamp from the opponent, lift your foot and step back to alleviate the pressure and maintain tight control, making it difficult for the opponent to overpower your leg with their arm.
Throughout the technique, maintain a tight grip and control to prevent the opponent from regaining leverage or initiating a counter-attack.
