About this video
Finishing the folding pass with a head-to-head position:
- Secure a grip on the opponent's belt from behind and roll your shoulder forward, possibly controlling the collar or pressing the elbow in.
- Apply a hip sag and roll, clamping your shoulder heavily into the opponent's sternum and placing your ear next to their ear.
- Keep your head low and tight to the opponent's chest to prevent them from creating frames.
- Take small steps with your front-side leg and use your backside leg to wipe the opponent's legs towards their face.
- Pass your leg over to the other side if the opponent tries to catch it, kicking it forward to free it if necessary.
- Watch for the opponent to extend their back as a reaction to their knees being driven to their chest, which is the best timing to pass your leg over.
- Upon passing, bring your knee close to the opponent's lower back and hamstring, boxing in their hips to prevent recovery.
- Secure side control with a near-side underhook and stabilize the position.
Remember to maintain tightness and control throughout the pass, especially when clamping the opponent's hips between your knees after securing side control.
