About this video
Transitioning from the folding pass to mount through the leg weave involves several key steps to secure the position and potentially isolate the opponent's arm.
- Start by entering the leg weave from the folding pass, especially when the opponent keeps their knees apart.
- Secure a cross face and underhook, then open up space to bring your inside knee close to their hip.
- Bring your hip down to the mat, making your right hip heavy.
- Take a big step forward with your left leg, placing it close to the opponent's far hip.
- Clamp your knee tight to their hip and roll your weight into the mat, transitioning your weight from the left hip to the right hip.
- Although you can release the leg and take side control, you have the option to climb to mount.
- When climbing to mount, project your weight through your chest, forcing their shoulder to the mat.
- Flare their elbow away from their body to begin isolating their arm.
- Pinch your knees together, go onto your toes, and sag your hip towards the mat to transfer all weight into your chest.
- Finally, step to their far side hip with your arm and roll your chest forward to secure the mount and begin isolating the opponent's arm.
