About this video
Transitioning from a leg drag to a folding pass:
- Start from a standing position and initiate a leg drag. The specific method of entering the leg drag is not detailed.
- Once in the leg drag position, aim to place your left shoulder on your partner to move towards securing side control.
- Anticipate your partner framing against your shoulder. If you continue driving forward, they may hip escape and frame you out.
- Make a grip on your partner's belt and switch your other grip to their tricep.
- Instead of driving forward, change your direction and run over the top of their legs.
- Lean your head and shoulder diagonally to shift your weight onto their frames and lighten your left leg.
- Relocate your left leg closer to your right leg, then lift your right leg and step over to initiate a hip set.
- Stay on the balls of your feet, not your heels, to maintain pressure on your partner.
- By leaning on your toes, you can melt into position, making it difficult for your opponent to defend as they are forced into an awkward position.
- After initiating the leg drag and getting closer, cup the belt and the tricep (or collar, though the tricep grip is preferred).
- Lean, relocate your leg, and step over. Immediately initiate a hip sag with your left hip and lower your head.
- Drag your left knee close to their hamstrings and try to bring their knees towards their chest.
- Pass your leg over easily, and if they begin to move and defend, complete your position.
