About this video
When facing an opponent playing X-Guard, establish a strong base and momentarily forget about the legs. It's crucial to avoid keeping both legs straight as this gives the opponent the chance to recover or sweep.
- Control the opponent's legs slightly to prevent them from moving freely.
- Use the left hand to control the opponent's legs, ensuring a firm grip.
- Bring the right leg down to the top of the opponent's stomach, placing your waist over their neck to secure the position.
- Shift your weight to the right, placing your hand on top of your stomach for balance.
- Jump your left leg over to the other side, landing in a controlled position.
- When turning your leg inwards, make sure your waist is properly positioned over the opponent's neck.
- As you jump your leg over, push your right leg slightly downwards to aid the movement.
- After completing the jump, maintain control of the opponent's legs, placing your weight down and securing side control.
