About this video

Countering the Berimbolo from De La Riva Guard:

  1. When the opponent attempts a Berimbolo, they may try to control your pants or force you to sit by placing their foot in front of your arms.
  2. To counter, control their top foot by gripping the material of their pants.
  3. Before being forced to sit, place your hand on the ground for support and follow their movement.
  4. As you follow, prevent sitting by posting your hand and bringing their foot towards you, completing the rotation.
  5. Open your right arm to remove their De La Riva hook.
  6. After the rotation, grip their pants with your group and pull their foot onto your thigh.
  7. Your right hand then controls their collar, and with your shoulder, pull their foot towards you.
  8. Control their neck, keep your weight down, and move to the side for control.
  9. When they pull you back and force you to sit, post your hand on the ground and follow them again.
  10. Pass your left foot over their body and open your right foot to remove the De La Riva hook.
  11. Step your right foot over their arm, force yourself down, and control their collar with your right hand.
  12. Push their foot down while simultaneously controlling their head.
  13. Finally, apply the De La Riva hook and maintain collar control.
