About this video
Countering the Berimbolo from De La Riva Guard:
- When the opponent attempts a Berimbolo, they may try to control your pants or force you to sit by placing their foot in front of your arms.
- To counter, control their top foot by gripping the material of their pants.
- Before being forced to sit, place your hand on the ground for support and follow their movement.
- As you follow, prevent sitting by posting your hand and bringing their foot towards you, completing the rotation.
- Open your right arm to remove their De La Riva hook.
- After the rotation, grip their pants with your group and pull their foot onto your thigh.
- Your right hand then controls their collar, and with your shoulder, pull their foot towards you.
- Control their neck, keep your weight down, and move to the side for control.
- When they pull you back and force you to sit, post your hand on the ground and follow them again.
- Pass your left foot over their body and open your right foot to remove the De La Riva hook.
- Step your right foot over their arm, force yourself down, and control their collar with your right hand.
- Push their foot down while simultaneously controlling their head.
- Finally, apply the De La Riva hook and maintain collar control.
