About this video
Addressing an opponent who maintains a posted hand to prevent their hip from hitting the mat:
- Initiate any knockdown technique to bring the opponent towards their hip.
- When the opponent posts their hand to keep their hip up, focus on dealing with that hand without releasing the collar grip, which is essential for controlling their posture.
- Use the De La Riva hook to kick out the opponent's posted hand, disrupting their balance.
- After successfully kicking out the hand, look to come up on top, potentially transitioning into a single leg X or a dominant mount position.
- The primary objective is to knock the opponent down to their butt and immediately look to come up on top to secure position and points.
- Maintain the collar grip throughout the process to control the opponent's posture, making it difficult for them to stand back up.
- Although the transition may not be the smoothest, the technique is effective in achieving a top position and progressing the match.
