About this video
Transitioning to the Twister hook from the crab ride position begins in the double guard pull. After knocking down the opponent, rotate underneath to the crab ride, ensuring to pump the leg forward to create space for the right hook insertion.
- Pull the opponent in and elevate their hips for better control.
- Switch feet by posting the left foot on the opponent's ankle and quickly transition to the Twister hook.
- Rotate hips towards the opponent to face them and secure the Twister hook.
- Kick down towards the mat to expose the opponent's back and immediately secure the seatbelt grip.
- Protect the choking hand by placing the bottom arm on top when securing the seatbelt and cover the knuckles for a tight grip.
- Insert the second hook to complete the position.
Use grips to pull the opponent in if they attempt to scoot away, keeping shins pressed against the back of their knees. Post the left foot on the opponent's ankle and rotate hips towards them to properly position the shin behind the knee. Utilize the left leg as a pendulum to expose the back, secure the seatbelt, and establish hooks.
