About this video
Explore an alternative attack from the crab ride position by switching to a leg drag on the opposite side. This unexpected move can catch an opponent off guard, especially if they anticipate a different attack.
- Start with the same entry into the crab ride position, establishing an X-Guard on the opponent's right leg.
- Bring your head to the outside of their leg to initiate the switch.
- Use your right leg to hook behind the opponent's far knee.
- Immediately come up onto your knees, driving your knee to the mat to secure the leg drag position.
- Control the opponent's collar with one hand, keeping your elbow inside, and maintain tightness with your knees.
- Stay low and tight to finalize the leg drag, preparing to advance your position on the mat.
This technique emphasizes the versatility of the crab ride position, offering multiple options for attack without significant risk, as the opponent has limited countermeasures.
