About this video

Executing an arm drag to berimbolo from a compromised position under an opponent using an over-under pass:

  1. Start by attempting to keep the opponent at bay to prevent them from securing the over-under position.
  2. If the opponent is heavy on you, begin to climb towards their belt while ensuring their head is off your body to prevent them from projecting weight across you.
  3. Once you reach the belt, make a palm-up grip and use your elbow to frame out their head, preventing them from holding you down.
  4. With the belt grip secured, hustle to build your base back up, aiming to end up on top.
  5. If the opponent tries to move their arm across your hip, it will be ineffective as they cannot project weight and maintain arm safety simultaneously.
  6. Keep the opponent's head down and stuck in an unfavorable position as you sit up and hug their near side leg.
  7. Drive forward and tip the opponent over by finding connection to the mat with your leg, keeping your elbow down and hugging their thigh.
  8. After turning the opponent over, you have options such as rolling back-takes or securing side control.
  9. Ensure the opponent's head stays across your body as you climb for the belt grip, feeding it to the arm on the side they are on, keeping your elbow down.
  10. With the belt grip palm up and elbow down, the opponent is limited in their actions, allowing you to build your base and pull yourself up and around the corner to lift, drive, and tilt them over.
