About this video

Executing a mounted guillotine from side control involves a sequence of movements designed to capitalize on the opponent's reactions. Begin by faking attacks to prompt the opponent to give up other options. For instance, place a knee on their belly, which will likely lead them to attempt a hip escape.

  1. Start in side control and fake an attack to prompt the opponent to react.
  2. Move your feet and place your knee on the opponent's belly.
  3. When the opponent starts to push your knee, their neck becomes exposed.
  4. At this moment, catch their neck and meet your hands together to start the choke.
  5. As the opponent tries to block your hands, come back with your knee on their belly to flatten them on the mat.
  6. Use your knee to push their hips down and place your forehead on the mat to secure the position.
  7. Extend your right leg, lean forward, and press your hips down to tighten the choke.
  8. The opponent should tap out to the guillotine choke as you apply pressure.

This technique uses the opponent's defensive movements to set up a guillotine choke, combining control and submission in a fluid sequence.
