About this video

Transition from Butterfly Guard to X-Guard Sweep:

  1. Start in the Butterfly Guard facing the opponent.
  2. If the opponent tries to control your neck, pull their hand up and away, then move to One Hook Half Guard.
  3. Place one hand between the opponent's neck and shoulder, opening up their neck, while the other hand wraps around their neck, pulling them towards you.
  4. Lift the opponent's neck with the One Hook and use your other hand to secure their neck.
  5. Adjust your body to transition into the X-Guard, making sure to keep your neck flat on the ground.
  6. Place one foot in front of the opponent's foot and the other behind their neck, then bring your left foot back and place both feet on one side.
  7. Keep your right foot behind the opponent's neck to maintain control and extend their posture.
  8. Pull the opponent forward by placing your right hand under their neck and following their movement.
  9. As the opponent bases out to prevent the sweep, follow up with a technical stand-up, secure their neck, and come on top ready to pass.

Key points include maintaining control of the opponent's neck, keeping your neck flat on the ground, and using the X-Guard to off-balance and sweep the opponent.
