About this video
Executing the De La Riva Guard Side Roll Sweep transitioning into a Berimbolo involves a series of coordinated movements:
- Start by establishing the De La Riva hook and prepare to off-balance the opponent forward.
- As the opponent begins to fall forward, ensure your head is positioned almost beneath their leg.
- Simultaneously, as you fall to the side, swing your left leg across to the other side of their body.
- Place your right foot and leg behind the opponent's neck, creating a secure position for the sweep.
- Use both legs to clamp down on the opponent as you execute the sweep.
- During the sweep, place your hands on the ground to assist in generating the necessary power and control.
- Once the sweep is successful, ensure your arm is under the opponent's neck and pass over their neck to secure side control.
These steps combine to effectively transition from the De La Riva Guard to a dominant side control position through the Berimbolo sweep.
