About this video

Attacking from the top position when the opponent is in Toreando:

  1. Start with one knee up and one knee down on the same side. Place your hand inside near the opponent's leg to control their knees.
  2. Transition to the other side to prevent the opponent from following you. Open their leg and insert your knee inside while pulling your other leg forward.
  3. Keep your leg straight and your knee on top of the opponent's knees to prevent them from turning and escaping. Maintain high leg position and pressure your legs together for firm control.
  4. To set up submissions, keep one knee inside because it forces the opponent to deal with your knee and leg.
  5. If you want to insert your second knee, adjust your foot slightly on top. When the opponent tries to block, control their leg as the first option.
  6. For the second option, if the opponent blocks, pass your hand over their leg, control it, and with both hands, bring their leg down and across their other leg.
  7. Once you control both legs, you can insert your second knee. After securing the position, release their legs and transition directly into the submission, such as an armbar.
