About this video
Passing half guard to set up a Brabo choke:
- When the opponent attempts to play half guard, place your left arm over their shoulder.
- Your right hand goes under their armpit to connect your hands together in a guillotine-like grip.
- Force the opponent to put their shoulder back on the mat.
- As they touch their arm to the mat, fall over their head to your left, ensuring their head is on the outside.
- Position your body to the side, and as you fall, close your right arm tightly.
- Secure the triangle with your arms, closing it first before moving your right hand behind their back.
- If the opponent tries to open their legs and move with you, you can't prevent them from moving.
- Stop their movement by walking a little inside and then pass your right arm behind them to close the triangle.
- After securing the arm triangle, finish the choke by jumping over their body and ending up on top.
